Garlic Grab CITO event

Prairie Creek Recreation Area, Jackson County

Friday, April 22, 2016

The Jackson County Conservation needs help clearing invasive garlic mustard from Prairie Creek. So this year for the CITO (cache in, trash out) we will be having a contest to see who can pull the most garlic mustard.  The winner will receive two nights of free camping, donated by Jackson County Conservation! Along with the invasive weed pulling, we will also be picking up trash along the way.

This is a great area and we want to help keep it clean for everyone to enjoy. We will be meeting at the parking area at 5:30 and will be done by 7:30. Garbage bags, refreshments, and door prizes will be provided.

This 273 acre area was donated by Robert J. Martin in 2013 and is near to town. There have been a few paths mowed, but we will be covering some unmanned areas, so make sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring along a pair of gloves.
