Learn basic backcountry skills and the gear needed to successfully complete a backcountry campout. This program is designed for families or young adults looking to hone new skills and better understand the process of planning and executing a backcountry adventure. The program will cover trip planning, tents, backpacks, water purification, waste, and waste removal, Leave No Trace principles, food preparation and storage, and basic wayfinding tips. A large selection of equipment will be on-site and available for demonstration. Free, but don’t forget to register.
