Join us as we kick off the 2021 season of "A Land Ethic Workshop" on Saturday, February 27th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. This free, introductory program will be held entirely online & is perfect for anyone with an interest in conservation & a desire to develop a better understanding of the natural world outside their own front door. Join instructor Ron Cisar as we introduce participants to our 10 month long programming series, "A Land Ethic Workshop". 

Participants in this introductory session will study & learn:

  • How one oak affects the biological community & reveals secrets of the past
  • The ecological significance of Iowa's Loess Hills landform
  • The biographical history of Iowa's own Aldo Leopold & his "Land Ethic"

This program is free for all attendees & is intended for participants age 14 & over with an interest in the natural world, no experience or prior knowledge is required to participate. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283.

Participants should note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we are planning on presenting all programs in the "Land Ethic Workshop" series online. Participants will need an internet connection & be willing to use the Zoom online meeting platform to attend. If conditions allow we may add additional outdoor opportunities for event participants at a later date. Please watch for updates. 

About "A Land Ethic Workshop"
This unique, 10 month long programming series, "A Land Ethic Workshop", will focus on the work & life of naturalist & Iowa native Aldo Leopold. Each month participants will explore a new work by Leopold coupled with additional activities such as guest lectures, sketching, journaling and more.

Programs are held online from 9:00 a.m. to noon & occur monthly, one Saturday per month, March through December. Participants may register for individual sessions or opt to attend all 2021 sessions. Participants may choose the programs that are of interest or register for the full 10 month program season. Participants do not need to attend every program session. Individual sessions are $15.00 per person & our full programming series of 10 sessions is $75.00.  

Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the program date by calling 712-545-3283 and speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 1 week (7 days) in advance of the event will not be refunded. Fees for programs cancelled by PCC due to weather or other circumstances will be refunded.
