Summer Skills: Shooting Sports Camp
Hickory Grove Park, Story County
Tuesday, July 20, 2021
In this camp we will experience some of the tools that were used for primitive hunting, by practicing with atlatls, sling shots, throwing tomahawks, shooting a bow, and ending with modern air rifles. This camp is designed to be fun, and educational, while also teaching campers safety, and respect. All equipment will be provided.
Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and clothes to be outside all day, including rain gear. Closed toed shoes are a must!
This camp is only for children that are completing 4th grade in the spring of 2021.
Registration begins May 3rd at 6 pm and runs until July 6 at 4 pm.
Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation, and we recommend face coverings when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
