Wildflower Walks

McFarland Park, Story County

Monday, May 3, 2021

Come and explore Story County in Spring. Woodland wildflowers are some of the best signs of the season. Find out the names and stories behind some of Iowa’s beautiful spring ephemerals. Discover the many changes nature is experiencing and learn about the restoration projects taking place in your parks.  This is a moderate hike suitable for most families. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather; you may also want to bring water. In case of bad weather, this event will be cancelled. This is not a stroller friendly hike as we will be walking on uneven surfaces and off paved trails.

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to the ongoing development of COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation and face coverings mandatory when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
