Rain Barrel Workshop
Lake Meyer Park and Campground, Winneshiek County
Sunday, March 12, 2017
Did you know that 50% of the pollution in our lakes and
rivers is washed in by storm water? Or that water use can increase by 40-50%
during the summer months, mostly because of outdoor water use? Help slow down
storm water runoff and reduce your water consumption by installing a rain
barrel!
Join Winneshiek County Conservation in a hands-on workshop
to construct your own 55-gallon rain barrel! All materials and tools will be
provided, as will information on how to collect and use runoff rain water.
A $20 materials fee per barrel is due at the time of the
workshop. Only a limited number of barrels are available and registration is
required by March 10 by calling (563) 534-7145. Additional workshops will be
scheduled as possible.
Please make sure you are able to transport your barrel after
the workshop.
