Saturday, May 11, 2024

Investigate the tiny macroinvertebrates that live in the water! This is a hands-on program and participants will have the opportunity to use nets to catch critters in the water and learn how to identify them.

This event is free and open to all ages. Jackson County Conservation will provide the equipment.

Aquatic macroinvertebrates are good indicators of water quality because: they are affected by the physical, biological and chemical conditions of the water.

Registration is required. For more information or to register, contact Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or email conservation@jacksoncounty.iowa.gov.

The Hurstville Interpretive Center is located 1 mile north of Maquoketa on Highway 61.
