Description
The Audubon County Conservative Board has created a new position of Trail Manager that will start on July 1st, 2024. The primary function is the management of 17 miles of the T-Bone Trail in Audubon County. Sections of the T-Bone Trail are now 20 years old. The maintenance need for this older trail now requires more staff. Asphalt surface repair with cold patch, crack sealer and hot tar will be a vital part of this position. Bridge repair and maintenance on over 30 trail bridges. Keeping trees pruned as so they don't interfere with trail users. A new tractor with a climate control cab was recently purchased with a rotary broom, snow plow and mower for trail maintenance. The individual will also be responsible for the maintenance of 5 miles of grass surface hiking trails at Littlefield Recreation Area. This individual will have to supervise seasonal staff assigned to help with these duties. A pre employment physical and drug screen is required by Audubon County. This position is under the supervision of the Conservation Director and the Operation Supervisor.
Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited 4 year college or university with a degree in park management, outdoor recreation, environmental science or related field is preferred or an Associates degree in related field with relative work experience.
