Julia Andreini, a native of Cedar Falls, has an affinity for silence and quiet spaces. As a yoga and meditation teacher, she helps others cultivate a quiet mind in an increasingly noisy world.
However! Julia’s love for silence would seemingly be at odds with her work as a musician. How does someone appreciate sound but love quiet? Join us for an exploration of how different types of sound impact the nervous system, learn about the last few “quiet places” in the world, and find a new appreciation for soundscape ecology. Julia plays violin professionally and will treat us to sweet sounds during her visit.
