Spring Break: NE Iowa Driftless (Ages 10-15)

Come travel with us for spring break and discover Iowa's wild spaces! Spend the day traveling to the Decorah Fish Hatchery, and Calmar to the Iowa Dairy Center. Here, participants will learn about fish of Iowa, and get to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a real dairy farm. Kids will get to be up close and personal with both scaley and furry friends. Participants will need to bring their own lunch, water bottle, a quiet activity for the van ride, and a bag to put it all in. Kids will also want to pack for the weather because part of the tours will take place outside, so do not wear your best shoes.
Ages:10-15
Cost: $50 dollars. This covers all program costs, and no walk ins will be accepted. Participants will need to pack their own lunch for the day.
Program Policies: All registrations must be done online, and no walk-ins will be accepted. If you need assistance in registering for programs online, please call the nature center 319-277-2187, and we will help you. Prior to the program, registration materials and waiver must be completed for each participant and turned into the nature center. These materials can be emailed to gcallaway@blackhawkcounty.iowa.gov or sent to 657 Reserve Drive Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613.Children can be dropped off starting 10 minutes prior to the start of the program and must be picked up with 15 minutes after the end of the program. If a child needs to be dropped off/picked up earlier/later, please contact Katie at kklus@blackhawkcounty.iowa.gov.
Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.
