Build an Ice Fishing Rod
Rock Creek Marina & Campground, Clinton County
Wednesday, January 17, 2018
Local rod builder, Garry Land will be on hand to help you build your very own, unique ice fishing rod for only $30. Space is limited so register today at www.mycountyparks.com
Important information to keep in mind.
The cost is just for "kits". For example if someone wants to come help you with building a rod, you do not have to register them. Only pay for the rod(s) that are going to be built. Children are welcome to come but they can become "bored" or frustrated with the process. Be prepared to finish their project. Unless you have the equipment, we do not recommend that you take it home unfinished.
Poles need to dry overnight at the center. You will have to come at a later date to pick it up.
Bring your patience. You all can do it but it does take time and some fine motor skills. The great thing is that there will be at least 3 instructors to help with only 10 people!
Building a rod will take a couple of hours. Expect to be there until 9 if not later, depending on your skill level.
You may bring your own beverages and food. The store will not be open. I will be able to open it up occasionally, so you can buy a pop or snack if you like. So bring some cash. $5 and $1 bills only please.
Some find it handy to bring a desk lamp or a ball cap light bar or "cheater" reading glasses with lights (I have seen those at Northern Tools) or a desk light that has a magnifying glass or something like that. Light and magnification help out tremendously
for some people.
