2017 Speaker Series: "Prairie Flowers"
Hitchcock Nature Center, Pottawattamie County
Saturday, June 10, 2017
The 2017 Speaker Series is a new programming series designed for teens & adults to provide them with an opportunity to learn from and interact with various authorities in the fields of conservation & environmental science. Programs are free with paid park admission & will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center on April 9th and then on the second Saturday of the month, May through October. Each program will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will last approximately 1 hour. After the presentation attendees may enjoy conversation with the presenter, a book signing, & refreshments provided by local vendors.
Help us welcome Danuta Hutchins to Hitchcock Nature Center as we learn to identify common prairie wildflowers. Learn where they blossom, where they grow, & their historical importance in Native American and early American cultures. Participants will receive a complimentary coloring book with images of flowers from the presentation for a hands-on learning experience.
