Nature Adventure Wednesdays: Nature Detectives

Hickory Grove Park, Story County

Wednesday, May 26, 2021

Take a break from your screen and go on a field trip with a naturalist! These are our favorite school field trips offered instead for families. While all ages are welcome, please note the suggested grades for each field trip.

Programs will take place outdoors and will be canceled in the event of severe weather. The $5 fee allows up to five youth and one adult chaperone (children must be accompanied by at least one adult), and additional adults do not need to register. If you are bringing more than five kids, please register them as a separate group with their own separate adult chaperone. The $5 fee will be charged to the adult registration only. The fee is required by the Monday before each field trip. Bring a blanket for your group to sit physically distanced; masks are recommended.

5/26 Nature Detectives (designed for Kindergarten): Using their senses to uncover clues, "detectives" will investigate the forest through inquiry and hands-on observation.

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation, and we recommend face coverings when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
