Spring Mushroom Hike

McFarland Park, Story County

Wednesday, May 26, 2021

During this spring hike, we will work together to discover and identify the local mushrooms found at McFarland Park, with knowledgeable enthusiasts as our guides. We will also discuss the possibility of forming a mushroom club, which will host local forays in the future. No experience necessary. Experts welcomed! Meet on the Conservation Center deck on the north side of the building. Please wear closed toed shoes and long pants; bug spray is recommended as well. This event is recommended for children and adults, age 8 and up

Registration closes on May 25th at 9 am.

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation, and we recommend face coverings when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
