Summer Skills: River Canoeing

Explore a local river by canoe. Campers must have prior canoe experience. Parents will be notified of drop off and pick-up locations, as SCC WILL Not be able to provide transportation. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, clothes that can be wet and muddy, sunglasses/hat, sunscreen, and water shoes (no flip flops). All equipment will be provided. 

Location is currently TBD, but it is likely to be Skunk River in Ames, or Boone Waterworks in Boone. Put-in location and take-out spot will be provided as we get closer to the camp date. 

This camp is for children who have completed grades 6 & up in the spring of 2021.

Registration begins May 3rd at 6 pm. ands closes on June 16th at 4 pm.

Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of the public and the staff. In response to COVID-19, Story County Conservation programs will adhere to social distancing, smaller group size, increased sanitation, and we recommend face coverings when social distancing is not possible or while indoors. Pre-registration will be required when group size needs to be limited due to the facility or location.
