After the Hunt: Butchering Program

Annett Nature Center and Park, Warren County

Friday, July 9, 2021

Need a new idea for Date Night? Come out to learn about skinning and butchering after you've been on a hunt or perhaps you've begun raising your own meat at home. Come out to the Middleswart Lodge and learn about the techniques of skinning and butchering the animal to get the most out of it to fill your freezer. This will be a learning and hands on program. We will have a professional with the Iowa DNR here to teach these important skills.

This program will focus on rabbits, and each participant will get their own rabbit to learn on and will take home the meat. This program is geared towards adults and due for the safety measures with the nature of this program, participants must be 16 years or older.

The cost is $30 per person to help cover materials costs. You will get to take the meat you butcher home with you. Registration at www.warrenccb.org/events is required by July 5th, and space is limited but there is a minimum of 5 participants required to hold this event.
