Discover Annett Nature Center and Park in Indianola

Opening on Earth Day in 1997, the Annett Nature Center serves as the hub for Warren County Conservation Board activities. The Annett Nature Center provides a one-of-a-kind learning experience to thousands of people.  Hundreds of acres surrounding the Center are rich in a variety of resources, featuring miles of trails, 30' observation tower, Osprey Reintroduction site, fishing, prairie plantings, a butterfly garden, a bird blind and wetland.  The Center serves as the focal point for many school field trips and summer nature day camps.  There are two levels of exhibits to explore inside the building.

The park sits on 160 acres, includes a six-acre pond and ten-acre wetland, and lies adjacent to Lake Ahquabi State Park. The nature center has three levels containing interpretive exhibits, live native animal displays, staff offices, educational classroom, and pavilion that is available for reservation. The park serves as the hub for WCCB activities, acting as the focal point for many school field trips, public programs and summer nature day camps.  Prairie grasses and forbs, a wildlife viewing blind, an observation tower and a butterfly garden featuring sculptures and native flowers are among the attractions.  WCCB maintenance and operations are also based here.
