Being in Nature
Christiansen Forest Preserve, Story County
Saturday, August 24, 2024
Leave your cell phones - and the busy-ness of the modern
world - at the trailhead and rekindle a sense of wonder, joy and curiosity by
creating a more direct and personal relationship with the natural world.
Through honing the senses and allowing your creative curiosity to mingle with
the forest, you will learn practices to quiet the mind, develop your natural
intuition and create a deeper sense of belonging in this marvelous world we
inhabit. Your guide is a psychotherapist by trade, teaches mindfulness,
and practices primitive skills, hunting and foraging as ways of cultivating
respect, care and appreciation for the wonders this world offers in abundance.
Bring a blanket
and/or camp chair to sit on, if preferred. Bring water and weather appropriate
clothing.
