Cedar Valley Nature Trail Closers/Updates

UPDATE:

The Cedar Valley Nature Trail remains closed from Evansdale to Weiden Road, Miller Creek Road to Ripple Road and from Spruce Street in LaPorte City to the Cedar River Bridge near McFarlane Park.

Crews will be resuming paving on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail today, Monday, April 14, 2025. They will be working to finish up the asphalt paving and shouldering along sections of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail between Evansdale and La Porte City.

Following the paving of the trail in these areas, the contractor will then move to reconstructing the intersections at Shaulis Road, Weiden Road, McKellar Road and Miller Creek Road. There may be temporary disruptions at these intersections, but lengthy closures are not expected. Please watch for additional trail notifications on the Black Hawk County Conservation website (www.blackhawkcountyparks.com) and Facebook page.

Please avoid the closed areas and obey ALL trail closure signage. The closures are for the safety of the public and the contractors.
