2nd Sunday Speaker Series: Civilian Conservation Corp in Northeast Iowa

Event Summary

The Civilian Conservation Corps was a federal program that operated during the Depression years. It was set up to assist young men in supporting their families. Most of us know it from the work done on our state parks, but in Iowa, over 70% of the work done by the CCC was done on erosion control and planting trees. Local author Linda McCann was able to talk with men who had been in the CCC and shares their memories. She has two books about the CCC in Iowa; one for the northeast and one for the southeast. She will have copies of all her books available for purchase.

There is no cost for this program and no need to register.
