Iowa Young Birders Spring Field Trip

Event Summary

Nestled in the heart of Cedar Falls, Hartman Reserve is a 340-acre woodland area that, according to eBird, hosts up to 195 bird species in a year! We're excited to partner with Black Hawk County Conservation Board to kick off the spring migration season with a hike through this bird oasis. Hartman Reserve hosts some exciting birds in April such as Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Red-shouldered Hawk, both of which we hope to see, as well as some early migrants such as Hermit Thrush, Black-and-White Warbler, and Palm Warbler. We'd love to have you join us! This family-friendly field trip is free but advanced registration is required. No prior experience is necessary - we welcome anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors and look at a few birds! A limited number of binoculars will be available for use.
