Beginner Foraging Hike

Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Black Hawk County

Sunday, September 10, 2023

Guest presenter, Lindsey Coyne, will be taking new folks to foraging on a hands-on hike.

Lindsey Coyne is an herbalist and wild food forager, who holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics. She started foraging mushrooms with her family in Illinois at a young age and has been studying wild edibles for the last 10 years. Lindsey and her family have lived in Iowa for 8 years. Lindsey offers a range of classes throughout the year including plant identification walks, herbal medicine making, cooking with wild edibles, plant based and gluten free cooking and baking and much more. She also offers private consultations for holistic nutrition and herbal health support. Lindsey is available for private land walks as well, where she will come to your property, yard or favorite local park and point out the bounty of wild foods you have in your area. Her favorite thing to do is saunter in the woods and prairies with others while pointing out edible and medicinal plants.
