McFarlane shelter is an open-air shelter with the capacity to seat 100 people. The beautiful surroundings, combined with a playground & a volleyball court make this an ideal place to hold any of your events. The north side of the shelter is enclosed and also has a serving counter.

!NOTICE! Black Hawk County Conservation is in the process of replacing the existing playground near the shelter with more modern equipment. Depending on construction timing there may be no playground equipment available at this location during your rental. You are welcome to utilize the playground located in the campground. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience while we work to improve McFarlane Park.

Additional tents, dunk tanks, bouncy houses or any other additional structures are prohibited.


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 06:00 AM and check-out is before 10:30 PM.

Fees

McFarlane shelter rents for $55/day.

If you decide to cancel, there is no refund.

A date change will be allowed ONE time only & can only be made by calling the Conservation Office at (319) 433-7275 and will be assessed a $25 administrative fee.

McFarlane shelter is open from spring through fall, weather permitting. This shelter can be reserved from 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
