Discover Wapsi Bend Wildlife Area in Dunkerton

Wapsi Bend Access consists of 40 acres of flood plain woodlands.  It is adjacent to Wapsi Bluff Access.  The Wapsipinicon River runs along the eastern border of the park.  The park provides habitat that supports a variety of game species.  The park offers white tailed deer, turkey,and squirrel for those who hunt and the river could certainly provide the resources for migratory waterfowl to utilize as they migrate through the area.  For the canoe enthusiast the park offers access to the Wapsi River Water Trail.  This water trail is a stretch of the Wapsipinicon River being managed by the DNR as a scenic trail with river access for the beginner as well as seasoned paddlers.
