The Swede Point Shelter is an enclosed building with tables and chairs for 80 people. It conveniently has air conditioning, heat, a refrigerator, oven, microwave and countertop space for various types of events. No running water to this building, but there is a water hydrant and modern bathrooms close by that are operational during the camping season.

By agreeing with these terms and conditions, you represent that you are 18 years or older (21 years or older if you will be having keg(s)) and that you are authorized to make the reservation on behalf of the group listed. You further agree to assume full responsibility for the acts, negligence or omissions of the members of your group while uutilizing said facilities.
Additionally, you agree that you have read and understand the CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICIES concerning this reservation, and have also read and understand the FACILITY CONTRACT information.
Keg beer is allowed but requires a deposit of $100.00 for the first keg and $50.00 for each additional keg. Renter must mail keg deposit checks 10 days in advance of the reservation to:

You are reserving a facility in a Boone County park. ALL COUNTY PARK RULES AND STATE LAWS ARE ENFORCED. HARD LIQUOR IS NOT ALLOWED IN OUR FACILITIES. Further, if this reservation includes keg beer, you agree to comply with Section 123.47 of the Code of Iowa regarding the possession of beer by minors and Section 123.46 of the Iowa Code regarding consumption or intoxication in a public place. Contact us at the number listed on your reservation confirmation email if you have any questions about park rules, policies or special requests.FAILURE TO CLEAN UP THE FACILITY OR SURROUNDING AREA AS OUTLINED, OR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH PARK RULES OR STATE LAWS MAY RESULT IN ENFORCEMENT ACTION AND SUSPENSION OF PARK PRIVILEGES. Boone County Conservation may take any legal action necessary to recover damages to county property. Shelters/lodge are all self check-in. There is a key lock box located on the outside of the door and will be set to the 4-digit code that was selected above. Please follow the directions below for entry into shelter/lodge:1. Push buttons for each number of your code on the keypad in any order2. Push down on the “OPEN” latch at the top, while holding it down pull the face out from the key box. If a number has been incorrectly pushed, the box will not open. Simply press down on the “CLEAR” button to try again.3. While holding the face, pull out the key and put the face back onto the key box. The face will then lock back onto the key box and the code will clear. 4. After you have locked the building, follow the directions listed above and put the key back into the box.
Swede Point Shelter Rules and Cleanup Checklist: Check-in time will be at 5:30 AM and Check-out time will be at 10:30 PM1. Wipe off all tables and chairs2. Place all tables in the arrangement they were when you arrived3. Inside tables are not allowed outside4. Sweep floor and wipe off counter tops and appliances5. Put all trash in trash cans and leave them indoors6. Make sure all food, drinks, and ice are out of the refrigerator7. Close any open windows8. Turn off all lights 9. Shut and lock doors 10. Once doors are locked, place key back into the lock box using the provided key code11. You must be cleaned up and out by the Park Closing time of 10:30 PM

Bands, disc jockeys and other amplified sources of sound are allowed. It is recommended that you work out the details for your amplified music in advance of your event with the park ranger.
Failure to comply with any shelter or park rules may result in fines, termination of shelter use, and suspension of park privileges.
Please understand at the time of booking your reservation that you immediately prohibit other people from reserving & utilizing that facility - they must go elsewhere to locate a facility for that date.
However, if you need to cancel your reservation you have one opportunity to reschedule within 12 months of your reservation date.
We will observe a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee policy with the following exceptions:
-Accident, serious injury or death of an immediate family member
-Travel conditions where a substantial risk is required in order to travel such as a winter storm where a travel advisory has been issued
-We are unable to provide your facility (or like facility) in operable condition for the date of your eventALL requests for refunds cannot be done online and must be made by calling the Conservation Office at (515) 353-4237.
