Night Prairie Burn

Event Summary

Buchanan County Conservation Staff will light up the night sky with a spectacular prairie fire.  Observe the dramatic management practice of prairie burning to renew the prairie. Before the burn, rangers will share why this technique is used, how the area is prepared and what types of equipment are used.  Please note: This program is dependent on specific weather conditions and will be scheduled accordingly.  Preregistration is required and we will notify you as early as possible on the day of the burn.
