Event Summary
Stacey Snyder recently returned from an incredible adventure to Antarctica. During this special program, she will relay her experiences and lessons learned. A delicious supper will be served, with the program following.
Stacey Snyder, Expanded Learning Program Teacher with Waterloo Schools at Orange and Lowell Elementary, was selected as a 2019 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow and traveled with National Geographic & Lindblad Expeditions on a journey to Antarctica in late 2019! Stacey was one of 150 travelers who made the journey on the ship National Geographic Explorer to the frozen continent.
Stacey will focus on impacts of climate change on Antarctica and its wildlife and actions in Iowa can impact the world & its wildlife, in even the most remote areas. Stacey will present an audio-visual story, share how she is using her experiences in her classroom teaching, and will be happy to answer your questions at the end of the hour.
The event is a fund-raiser to support Friends of Fontana Park - a local nonprofit that supports education efforts of the Buchanan County Conservation Board. If you have any questions please call the nature center at 319-636-2617.
