Event Summary

This hands-on program will have you preparing summer fruits for dehydrating, freezing, making jams and fruit leathers (roll-ups). Learn the proper handling techniques and tips for keeping fruits bright and flavorful. Preserving locally grown produce allows you control over the amount of sugar and additives in your food, supports local growers, empowers you to grow and save your own food, and reduces the carbon footprint of the food you eat. Participants may borrow dehydrators and canning equipment from Buchanan County Extension.
