Fontana Fishing Competition

Event Summary

It has been said that if you cook a man a fish he will eat for a day but if you teach a man to fish you get rid of him for the whole weekend! Fishing can be more than just getting you out of the house; it can be a wonderful chance to spend time with family and friends. Friends of Fontana Park will host a Fishing Competition at Fontana Park. The contestants will be divided into two divisions based on their age. Participants 16 years of age and older will be in Division I. They must have a valid 2012 Iowa Fishing License and they will have an entry fee of $5 per person. Division II will be comprised of participants 15 years of age and under and will have no entry fee. Prizes will be awarded in both divisions in two different categories; most number of fish caught and the heaviest fish.
