Audubon Christmas Bird Count

Event Summary

Join a group of bird enthusiasts as they explore Buchanan County for winged treasures. All levels of birders are invited to participate in birding by car with local birding experts. We are also looking for Independence, Winthrop, Rowley, and Quasqueton residents to call in bird observations (number of birds and species) from their home feeders on this day. The information we gather will help determine the health of bird populations both locally and nationally. There is no fee to participate in this program, but please call 319-636-2617 to sign-up. Participants will meet at the Go America gas station in Independence at 7 a.m. Birders who would like to join later in the day can call to arrange a meeting location.
