APR 18 2021 1:00 PM
Event Summary
Is the new normal leaving you stressed? You are invited to unplug, slow down, and experience mindfulness in nature. Forest bathing is a slow-paced, therapeutic experience in nature that promotes wellness through a series of gentle, sensory-opening invitations. This gentle, three-hour walk will focus on using all your senses to explore Guy Grover Trails and Tree Plantings. A certified guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy will lead you through nature explorations. This walk is based on Shinrin-yoku, research with this standardized practice has shown numerous positive health benefits such as lowered blood pressure, decreased anxiety, and increased focus. And there is also the intangible and less measurable relaxation and a connection with nature.
Please come prepared by wearing comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers for the weather. You might want to bring a light snack and drinking water. A small backpack with sunscreen and bug repellent may be useful. You may wish to bring a mat or small camping chair to sit on. Small sit mats will be available for use. The walk will continue if there is light rain, so bring rain gear. This program is geared towards those 16 and older. No pets.
