Event Summary
Join the naturalist and a couple of special guests on Saturday, July 19th for the annual Buena Vista County Conservation’s Animal Afternoon. Jason Gustafson from Smokin’ Barrels hunting preserve will start the afternoon off at 1:00. He will be sharing his knowledge of raising pheasants and what life is like on a game farm. He will be bringing a few of pheasants for you to meet as well. At 2:00 Renee Stroud from Sac County Conservation will share her experience raising Angora rabbits. Renee will be bringing some of her rabbits with her and share how she gathers and uses their fur. Katie the naturalist will conclude the afternoon at 3:00 with turtles of Iowa; live turtles included. This is an afternoon of animal fun you don’t want to miss! Programs will be held in the south shelter area. Lemonade and cookies will be provided. RSVP’s are required by 4:00 PM on July 18th.
