Conservation Coffee Club - Iowa's Endangered Wood Turtles


Event Summary

Enjoy some social time with coffee, tea and treats followed by a conservation focused program. Dr. Jeff Tamplin is a Professor of Biology at the University of Northern Iowa who has been using radio telemetry to study wood turtle ecology in Iowa for over 20 years. Jeff will discuss the natural history of this unique endangered species, as well as provide information on state distribution, habitat usage, and more. Wood turtles are extremely rare in Iowa, so join us to discover why it chose to call Lime Creek home. Cost is $3.00 for nature center members or $5.00 for nonmembers. Registration deadline Friday, January 6 by 4 pm.
