OCT 18 2023 9:30 AM
Lime Creek Nature Center & Conservation Area , Cerro Gordo County
Event Summary
Enjoy some social time with coffee, tea and treats followed by a conservation focused program. Sandwiched between Russia, China, and Kazakhstan, is Mongolia—a beautiful country noted for its nomadic people. As superb horsemen, the nomads celebrate a time-honored tradition of launching trained Golden Eagles from horseback, to bring down fox and hare. Join nature photographer Ty Smedes as he narrates a slide presentation exploring the Mongolian countryside, while experiencing the rich culture. We’ll also explore the Flaming Cliffs, along with the renowned Gobi Desert, where seemingly endless sand dunes and the Bactrian Camel herders reign. Cost is $3.00 for nature center members or $5.00 for nonmembers. Registration deadline October 13 by 4 pm.
