Event Summary

Have you ever noticed how bats are always portrayed with "fangs" bared, blood dripping from their mouths and bloodshot eyes glowing in the dark?  They, like other night-time wild ones, have been given a bad rap in myth and movie.  Marlene Ehresman will offer information that will dispel generations of myths, giving you insight into these remarkable mammals who provide humans with several services - for free.  Have you ever seen one up close?  Bonnie, a Big Brown Bat that Marlene raised from a pup a few years ago will be there in all her furry glory!  The program will be followed by a catered lunch and social time.  Cost is $5.00 for nature center members and $7.00 for nonmembers.  Please call 641-423-5309 by March 2nd to register.
