After School Special - Talkin' Turkey!
NOV 14 2016 4:00 PM
Lime Creek Nature Center & Conservation Area , Cerro Gordo County
Event Summary
It is such a majestic bird that Benjamin Franklin himself wanted it to be our national symbol. By the early 1900’s the wild turkey had completely disappeared from Iowa and was greatly declining in numbers nationally. Strong conservation efforts have brought this bird back to Iowa where its booming gobble can be heard throughout the state. This “parent/child” program will include a presentation about the wild turkey and a fun craft activity for the kids.
