Event Summary
The prairie in winter offers a unique beauty, from the skeletons of last year’s plants to the tracks and galls that tell us life still abounds after the flowers retreat. Come on out to the Motor Mill Historic Site at 9:30 AM on Saturday, February 12th to celebrate with a winter prairie hike.
The free program will take place outside, so attendees should dress accordingly. The walk should finish by about 11:00 AM. We will cancel in the event of overly hazardous weather. All ages welcome.
The Motor Mill Historic site is located five miles east of Elkader on Galaxy Road. The Osborne Nature center is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Saturday. For more information on events call 563-245-1516 or visit www.claytoncountyconservation.org.
