Every year since 1970, Americans as well as people across the world have used April 22nd as a day of celebration and appreciation for the only planet we call home. Here in Iowa, it just so happens to coincide with one of the best times of year for viewing early-season wildflowers and mushrooms, along with the beetles, bugs, and birds who love them.
Come and join Clayton County Conservation in celebrating Earth Day with a short hike through the prairie and forest around Osborne Pond. The hike will be less than 2 miles total through relatively easy terrain; all ages and ability levels are welcome to come and explore with this free program. The Osborne Pond is located roughly 4 miles south of Elkader on Highway 13.
