Event Summary

Bob and Kathy Fassbinder have been raising bees for over 42 years near Elgin, IA. A family affair, the Fassbinders have over 200 hives, distributed across 60 different farms along the Turkey and Volga Rivers between Eldorado and Garber. No honey in Iowa can be certified organic, but the Fassbinder family takes pride in offering raw honey that is as close to organic homey as possible. Bob will share how his whole family works as bee ambassadors doing what they can to understand the problems facing bees including the devastating bee colony collapse problem and their efforts to improve the health of the bees and the environment.
