Nature All Around Us Art Series "Clayton County Rocks"
AUG 28 2021 1:00 PM
Event Summary
Participants will have fun making “Clayton County Rocks”, A.K.A “Kindness Rocks” with Naturalist Abbey and then hide them in their favorite public area. A fun project for all ages, these rocks spread happiness to those that find them — one colorful rock at a time. When someone finds a rock they can keep it or re-hide it in a new spot. Many of these rocks contain an inspirational message or artwork to brighten the day of the person who finds it.
This is a free event, though donations are welcomed to help benefit the Nature All Around Us Mural Project completed last spring at the Osborne Nature Center by Artist Jordyn Brennan, from Upper Iowa University. A grant through the Iowa Arts Council funded part of this project, but we still need a few matching funds to complete the grant. The Nature All Around Us Art Series is designed to inspire the imagination during educational programs and bring awareness and appreciation of art and nature to Osborne’s visitors. Watch our website and Facebook page for upcoming workshops.
