February, 21st ~ Building Better Birders and Citizen Scientists Workshop ~ Rock Creek ~ Join us for the first of two days of learning about birds and how we can help them. Funding for this workshop was provided by the Resource Enhancement and Protection – Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP). This workshop will be conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research & Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) and Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Ed. Center). 5:30 PM ~ Common Feeder Birds of Iowa 7:30 PM Live Red-tailed Hawk and Barred Owl 8:00 PM Owl Prowl Walk at Rock Creek  

February 22nd ~ Building Better Birders and Citizen Scientists Workshop ~ Rock Creek ~ Day two of learning about birds and how we can help them. 7:00 AM ~ Bird Walk at Rock Creek 9:30 AM ~ Passerines (songbirds) of Iowa 11:30 AM ~ Feeder Watch and Lunch Break 12:30 AM ~ Non-Passerines (non-songbirds) of Iowa 2:45 PM ~ Midwestern Raptor Population Trends as Determined by Forty Years of Christmas Bird Count Data. 4:00 PM ~ Bird Walk/Owl Prowl
