Summer Solstice Celebration Campout!

Event Summary

Join the DCCB naturalists to celebrate the longest day of the year.
7 – 8pm We’ll create our camp. Bring your tents and set up in a special area. (Tent camping only allowed this one night only).
8 – 10pm Join a group sharing stories around a camp fire and take a night hike down to the Raccoon river.
10pm - ? Head out to the open field for star gazing on a nearly moonless night. At some point, everyone should tuck in for a few hours of rest.
4– 5am Get up early to watch the solstice sunrise at the rock clock on top of the hill before breaking camp and going home for breakfast.
Pre registration is required. Come for all or any part of the program. Program is weather dependent. Participants are responsible for providing their own tents, camping gear and food.
