Hunting at North Raccoon River Wildlife Area-Snyder Tract
The
North Raccoon River Wildlife Area - Snyder Tract has 115 acres of public hunting, with and additional 30.5 acres set aside as a wildlife refuge.
The area is mostly river bottom timber along the North Raccoon River area. It includes several old sandpits that attract waterfowl.
The use of non-toxic ammunition is encouraged.
Fishing is also allowed.
Locations
The North Raccoon River Wildlife Area - Snyder Tract is located just off County Road F31 about two miles southwest of Minburn.
To get there from Minburn, travel west on County Road F31. After crossing the North Raccoon River, pull into the first driveway on the left (south) side and park.
Additional parking areas can be found along Lexington Lane, the first road on the south side of County Road F31 after crossing the North Raccoon River. There are three gates spaced along the road that serve as access points.
The hunting area is found solely on the east side of Lexington Lane.
The wildlife refuge is found on the west side of Lexington Lane near the south edge of the hunting area.
