This is a large, shaded, grassy tent site under a canopy of cottonwood trees along the Mississippi River.

This is a pay on site campsite. Tent/ Camper must be set up on site and registration following directly after. There are several reservable campsites also offered at this campground. 


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 03:00 PM and check-out is before 02:00 PM.

Location

Mud Lake Park is located 6 miles north of Dubuque off of Mud Lake Road. Travel north on Highway 52 until you reach the town of Sageville. A BP gas station is located on the corner of Highway 52 and Sherril Road. Turn Right on Sherril Road and take the next right onto Mud Lake Road. Brown county park signs are located from Highway 52 north to the park entrance to help guide visitors to the park.

Firewood is available for purchase at $5/bundle located next to shower house. No out of state firewood allowed. A dumpster is available on site for refuse disposal.

Fees

Camping Rate: $15.00/per night

  • Please register and pay for your camping in the self registration kiosk. 
  • One additional tent may be placed on site only for children under the age of 18 at no additional charge.

  •  Water and modern shower/restroom facilities are closed approximately from November 1st through May 1st depending on conditions.
