What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is an outdoor hobby that is kind of like a game of hide and seek or some say a scavenger hunt. Some players hide something called a geocache or cache for short. These are containers of various sizes and sometimes disguises that usually contain a logbook and an item some sort like a trinket. The coordinates and sometimes hints to where you can find the caches are then published, usually on a geocaching website, so players can look for them using a GPS or smartphone. The caches are usually hidden in places, like a hole in a tree, so once you arrive at the coordinates you still have to look for it. Once you find the geocache you sign the log book, exchange the item with an item you brought, and put the geocache back where and how you found it so other players can look for it. Its a fun and adventurous way to spend some time outdoors!
