Squirrel Hollow Shelterhouse. This shelterhouse was built out of fieldstone in the 1930's by the Civil Works Administration crews. Built on a bluff overlooking the North Raccoon River it offers a scenic view of the river valley. Old millstones are laid in a circle in the center of the floor, with 1853 inscribed in one. It can also be used on a first-come, first-serve basis if there is no reservation posted at that time.
