Discover Waters Wildlife Area in Jefferson
The Waters Wildlife Area is a 40 acre area donated to Greene County to be managed as a wildlife refuge. Because of this public hunting is not allowed. Buttrick Creek flows through the area, with one side being floodplain timber and grassland and the other upland oak / hickory timber. The area is utilized by birdwatchers, mushroom hunters, and for nature study.
- 40 acres of timber. 1/2 upland oak / hickory and 1/2 floodplain timber.
