The School House at Bell's Mill is a reminder of the past and is original to the Stratford area.  The school has electricity 8 foot tables and folding chairs and wood burning stove for heat. 


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 08:00 AM and check-out is before 10:00 PM.

  • Reservations may be made up to TWO YEARS in advance.
  • Rental must be in the name of a person that is 18 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation. (21 years of age is there is to be wine or beer present at the event)


Hours of Operation & Seasons

The School House is a seasonal facility, available for reservations from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily from April 1 thru October 31. 

  • Park Hours are 5:00 am to 10:30 pm
  • Reservations should plan to have their event concluded, cleaned-up and exit the park by 10:30 pm

  • All laws of the State of Iowa are in effect.
  • Smoking is prohibited
  • Keg beer is prohibited
  • Tables must remain inside the shelter
  • Clean-up of facility must be completed no later than 10:00 pm
  • We have a No Refund policy; however, if you need to cancel your reservation you have one opportunity to reschedule. Be sure to read the Facility Contract for details.

The Hamilton County Conservation Board is located in central Iowa and manages 19 individual parks, wildlife areas, and river accesses - collectively encompassing over 2,000 acres. In addition, several major creeks and the Boone River flow through the county providing numerous water recreation opportunities.
