The Great Outdoors Overnight Camp (Youth Only that have just completed 4th, 5th, 6th Grades)

Event Summary

Hamilton and Webster County Conservation along with our Iowa State University Extension Offices will be hosting an overnight camp on Monday July 1st. The camp will start at 6:45 pm on Monday, July 1st and end at 3:30 pm on July 2nd. The camp is for youth that have just completed the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades only. There is a minimum of number of 16 for this overnight camp to take place. The camp is for one night only and is limited to the first 32 youth who apply online at

Deadline for registration is Wednesday June 26th at 5 pm. 

The camp cost is $40.00 per person for non 4-H youth and $30.00 for 4-H Youth. The fees will be used to offset the cost of camp expenses and food costs. The camp will be at Legacy and Hickory rental cabins at Brigg's Woods Park. This camp is for youth that want to experience the great outdoors. We will busy with fishing, canoeing, night hiking, fireside cooking, making survival shelters, and learn how to set up a tent.

Youth need to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, extra change of clothes, towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, gloves, bug spray, sunscreen and a hat. There will be a cabin for the girls with two adult female supervisors and a cabin for the boys with two adult male supervisors. All adults will have passed a background check and meet the Iowa State Extension requirements.
