Trumpeter Swan Soiree

Event Summary

The Iowa DNR and the Hamilton County Conservation Board will be sponsoring a "Swan Soiree" for all ages. Ron Andrews and Dave Hoffman with the Wildlife division of the Iowa DNR will give a presentation of the Trumpeter Swan reintroduction program. Observation of the swans will take place following the program at Beemer's Pond located west of the Webster City Airport. There are currently 135 swans wintering at this sight. Bring your warm clothes and camera for picture taking.
 
Donations for the purchase of feed are critical to the swan’s survival and maintaining healthy numbers of wintering swans. Beemer’s pond has a secure donation box located near the southeast corner of the pond and donations can be sent to Hamilton County Conservation, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail, Webster City, IA 50595.
